    Smoking Radiation?

[Tobacco Smoke as Another Source of Radiation]

Actual cause of the lung cancer ,associated with cigarette smoking, is Radioactivity ??

Per [Tobacco Smoke | Radiation Protection | US EPA]:

Radioactivity may be one of the key factors in lung cancer among smokers....†.

The tobacco leaves used in making cigarettes contain radioactive material, particularly lead-210 and polonium-210. ...
The radionuclide content of tobacco leaves depends [on fertilizer use]...

"... phosphate fertilizers, favored by the tobacco industry,
contain radium and its decay products (including lead-210 and polonium-210).
When phosphate fertilizer is spread on tobacco fields year after year,
the concentration of lead-210 and polonium-210 in the soil rises... ..."

    (more at http://www.epa.gov/radiation/sources/tobacco.html )

...So what about other plants (foods)?

Primorsky, Vladivostok, Irkusk, China, and Japan

Did you realize that Russia interjects itself squarely between China and Japan?
    map image: where is Vladivostok

Google maps will tell you that Vladivostok [ Владивостока ] is located in\at the "Region of Primorsky, Russia" *
But that won't be evident looking at their map...

It seems that this was tranditionally known (to us in the west) as "Primorsky Kray" [pree.mohrrsk'CRY]:
aka. the Primorsky Maritime Territory' .... ... Incidentally, in browsing the map today, I realized I always thought that Russia dipped down towards Japan by way of Kamchatka; but I guess I wasn't remembering my 'Risk' map correctly ;-) (See Kamchatskaya oblast... )

    Google Books Subject (Category) Search

re: google books subject search ; dateline February 2011

Oddly, when not logged-in, entry at http://books.google.com doesn't provide easy access to categories (anymore?), nor to the 'recommendations' seen in the past...

The biggest annoyance is that trying to use 'Advanced Search' limited to 'Subject' doesn't actually limit the search results to the Subject Category!

To get the list of Categories, you can use this URL or something similar (as of Feb 2011):
    http://books.google.com/books?q=travel&btnG=Search+Books

But it seems that many of the options (including Search results in some cases) are ONLY visible after you LOG IN with a Google/gmail account. (This may depend on your Browser type/version...)
     ...
The actual 'HOME' page , with Featured Suggestions organized by 'Subject' (Category) , is at
    (e.g. http://books.google.com/books?hl=en ) [="Browse subjects "]

    Here are the sidebar categories:

    Body, Mind & Spirit
    Business & Economics
    Computers
    Cooking
    Design
    Family & Relationships
    Games
    Gardening
    Health & Fitness
    House & Home
    Humor
    Law
    Literary Collections
    Literary Criticism
    Mathematics
    Medical
    Performing Arts
    Pets
    Philosophy
    Photography
    Poetry
    Political Science
    Psychology
    Religion
    Self-Help
    Social Science
    Technology & Engineering
    Transportation
    Travel

Here's a sample URL, for the MAGAZINES category :
    http://books.google.com/books/magazines/language/en?hl=en&source=gbs_slider_gbs_user_shelves_1004_homepage

Note that their names for things, such as the 'slider' and 'user_shelves' display method, can be seen in these URLS: "...&source=gbs_slider_gbs_user_shelves_1004_homepage"

And the limitation of language=English implies collections in other languages are also available
    ...
    ...
