Gamefly Shutting Down Video Game Streaming Service (8/2018)

continues it's demise ...

 Gamefly ended its streaming games service this year (2018). The webpage announcement reads only

 " Due to the sale of our technology to Electronic Arts earlier this year, GameFly Streaming will no longer be operating after August 31, 2018."

Similarly, the new model of digital download games and the inability to sell used games ((as you no longer own the tech you buy)), suggests that GameStop may soon be the next casualty of the times....
